Mushroom Mires

Biome

The Mushroom Mires biome generates underground anywhere in the world.

Though this biome only has a few hostile mobs, there are other sources of damage that can be lethal if not properly accounted for.

Spores is a negative effect that multiple things in this biome apply to the player. The effect acts similar to Wither, but the damage is dealt to the player randomly instead of at a constant rate.

This biome can be found anywhere in the world from y=10 to y=50. It has a sub-biome counterpart that generates when a Mushroom Mires biome is below y=25. In this biome, the foliage is orange instead of blue, and the Mire turns to Lava. This sub-biome is considerably less dangerous because there are no sources of Spores.

The main reason to enter this biome is to obtain large quantities of Glowing Mushrooms, which are a non-renewable resource that are rarely seen anywhere else. Blueshrooms also spawn exclusively in this biome (only in the blue counterpart).
